Joyful Discovery- S. Neil Fujita




S. Neil Fujita, a graphic designer who used avant-garde painting and photography to create some of the most striking album covers of the 1950s. He died yesterday aged 89. His work is playful and inspiring. Happy viewing.

Wigtown Festival


I have illustrated the brochure cover for this years Wigtown Book Festival. It was great fun to work on and should be a lovely event. I particularly enjoyed drawing a bookish lapwing!

Trapido


So I illustrated these covers for the novels of Barbara Trapido 2 years ago. I didn't read them at the time (no, I don't always read the books I design covers for). I recently picked up The Brother of the More Famous Jack (not actually pictured) and I am now completely hooked on her. Her writing is a perfect combination of highly intelligent and profound whilst still being light and comforting and sometimes laugh out loud funny. The best literary comfort reading I have come across in a long time. Enjoy...
